Case study

Matt Mayer had almost no commercial work. A year later it was a fifth of his revenue.

Melissa & A Mop is a residential and commercial cleaning company owned by Matt Mayer. Its residential work was growing. Its commercial work was almost nothing, and commercial was where it needed to grow.

Engagement with SystemWyze: 2025 through July 2026.

The challenge

Commercial buyers had to be found one company at a time, and no one at Melissa & A Mop was doing that work.

“I had a residential business with a very small amount of commercial. It had become apparent to me that I really needed to focus on and foster that commercial growth.”

Why SystemWyze

Matt had talked to others before SystemWyze. The first call went deep on his goals and on where SystemWyze's expertise fit them, and the two agreed from the start on how much AI was going to matter to his business.

“Because you were so AI forward, that's why I ultimately decided to work with you.”
Matt Mayer, speaking to Cory Thomas, SystemWyze

What was built

Matt brought SystemWyze in for two things:

  • a new source of commercial customers, built and run as an automated system, and
  • coaching so that more of the AI work could move in-house over time.

SystemWyze used extensive automations and AI to build the list and personalized outreach as affordably as possible. An example of the type of automated system used can be seen here.

Replies went to Melissa & A Mop. At the start, Matt's assistants handled them, working from written procedures SystemWyze wrote, with alerts and tools SystemWyze set up to do part of that work. Later, Matt built his own AI tool to handle replies, with SystemWyze coaching him through it.

“It's all automated. The vast majority, at least ninety-five percent, is completely automated. There's a few things here and there, but it's very, very hands-off.”
Matt Mayer

The results

By July 2026, commercial work was a fifth of Melissa & A Mop's revenue. A year earlier it was close to nothing.

20%of revenue from commercial work
“We went from zero percent commercial before we started working with you to roughly twenty percent of our total revenue.”
Matt Mayer

Matt has also mentioned dropping his own monthly AI spend by over ninety percent after moving to tools SystemWyze recommended, while getting started with an AI “operating system” for his business.

What it took

Time to live
About six weeks from signing.
The client's part
Recurring calls, coaching sessions, approvals, and managing his assistants on the replies. Later, Matt built and ran his own reply handling.
Run by
SystemWyze, for the length of the engagement. It produced the opportunities. Melissa & A Mop quoted and closed them.
Handed over
July 2026, to Melissa & A Mop. The lists, many of the automations and the written procedures stayed with the client.

One more thing from Matt

“Bringing someone in like Cory that can partner with you on this is going to be a no-brainer investment of your money.”
Matt Mayer, Melissa & A Mop, July 2026

If you own a service business and there is a specific system or job you want to automate with AI, I would like to talk with you about it. Thirty minutes, free. By the end of it you will know where AI fits in your business and where it does not. If the answer is that it does not fit anywhere yet, I will tell you that.
